craft fair preparation

well, i think the vendors fair worked. i wasn't very inspired on saturday at the crop and only managed a few die cuts in preparation for some tags i am making. this is all in preparation for a craft fair on 7 november. this is one of the lines - gift card holders, they are £1.50 each.

more projects to follow.

nothing crafty to report

as i've been away to cornwall for a week with richard. the coastal villages are beautiful. this is mevagissey, one of the nicest.

we ate a lot of ice cream, and i mean every day!! we went to the eden project, which we enjoyed, but it was very expensive.

and went by jamaica inn. i was fascinated to re-read the book as i haven't read it for probably 20 years. i loved it, i do like books where i am "in" the story and this one didn't disappoint. when we went by the inn, the atmosphere was perfect and it was exactly as i imagined.

i am not feeling very creative this week, i have a course for the next 2 days, although i am going to a crop on saturday and a vendors fair on sunday, so maybe they will inspire me to get creative.

creative escape - friday night extravaganza

we created a cute memo board and used the new i-top brad maker tool, very, very nice project.

creative escape - teresa collins

this album was teresa all over, we used her own product line and loads of bling! my album needs photo's badly, as the picture simply doesn't do it justice without. i am going to make this a family album for christmas. we also used the cinch binding tool, i was tempted, but i do have a bind it all, so i will be sticking with that for the time being.

creative escape - pam black

wow, this class was fast!! i stayed caught up really well, but as i hadn't gone to the technique boutique on thursday, there were a few elements that i did not get to do. therefore, again, a heart is missing from the left hand side of the album. i enjoyed this class immensely.

creative escape - heidi swapp

in this class we created a hanging album, totally heidi!! there is a flower missing from the right hand side of the album, and heidi's had a crown on the top, so mine still has some work to be done. a cute project, but again, not very challenging.

creative escape - maggie holmes

maggie's class was a talk about photography. i have done two of maggies classes before, so i was really excited about this. the talk was interesting and for me, personally, would have been more beneficial if i had been able to practice what she was saying as i went along, she talked about experimenting with light, focus etc. i am not at all technical and need to "do" to get the most from this type of class.

nevertheless, we completed the front and back covers of a cute album, which was totally maggie!

male birthday card

this is my first attempt at blogging from my i-phone, i am excited with this new app, i think i am iphone obsessed!!!

i had an order for 6 cards from one of the ladies at work, this is the first one. i used basic grey capella (love this line!) and my slice sports cartridge for the image. of course i inked the edges of each with my trusty tim holtz vintage photo distress ink. the stamp is papertrey ink.

creative escape - claudine hellmuth

claudine's class was technique based. we used her paint line and created an 8x8 canvas showcasing these in smaller sections. we then pieced these together to make a collage. it was a cute class and Claudine was lovely.

creative escape - margie romney astlett

to be honest, when i saw the sneak peak of margie's class, i really didn't think i'd enjoy it. i'm not really a fan of handmade jewellery, i like the real thing too much, however, i surprised myself!! margie is the best fun, she's warm, funny, engaging and has time for everybody in the class. i laughed so much my sides hurt!!

anyway this was the project, mine is going to hang in my scraproom.

creative escape - tricia ladouceur

this was by far my favourite class. we made a creative escape themed box to hold all our memorabilia from the event. i didn't make the box as it simply wouldn't have fitted in my suitcase home, but i did make this into a page for my journal. it looks fabulous.

the class sponsors were tattered angels, prima, graphic 45, bazzill basics, hambly screen prints, riff raff designs, stix 2, ranger, westcott and vintaj.

i have just discovered vintaj. my local scrapbook store has just got these in stock. they are beautiful brass charms designed actually for jewellery making, but will look equally good in mini books and on scrapbook pages.

anyway, enough of that, here is the project:-

so, this is what it looks like now. i changed it up and had to remove some of the elements so that it would fit in my journal, i think it still looks pretty though!
