happy easter

i have been busy preparing for easter today. i made these cute cards:-

and 30 of these, they are so much cuter than i envisioned!! my cousin is having an easter open house tomorrow and i thought these would make cute gifts for everyone.

what have i been up to?

life has been pretty hectic around here, with work, holidays, exams etc. i have been busy with a couple of projects for the craft fairs and here they are:-

these cute owl bookmarks, i just need to add ribbon,

and these tooth fairy tins, they have a sweet poem inside and will be sold in a little organza bag.
things are coming along nicely for the show we are attending at mg live in silverstone on 24, 25 and 26 june. be sure to come and see us in the lifestyle tent.

some cards to share

it's my mum's birthday on tuesday and then mothers day next sunday and so i was on a mission today to make cards for both occasions. here is what i came up with:-

this is the birthday card, i wish i could remember where i got the cute cupcake paper from, i love it!! the large cupcake in the centre is made from a scrapbuggy die, it's one of my favourites and i crafted this from bazzill bling. some rhinestones give it a little extra pizzazz! of course, everything is distressed at the edges with my trusty vintage photo distress ink from tim holtz.

this her mothers day card. i took inspiration for this from the embellished doily project that i completed last year. i still have some left over martha stewart doilies, i love them! i used paper from the girls paperie and added a gliiter tag from crate paper and topped this with some stampin up flowers and a beautiful butterfly. the final touch is a jenni bowlin label stickers with 'mum' phrase to complete the look.

i am a little obsessed by the idea of heavily layering everything at the moment, i really do love the mix of items that can be used during this process and the depth of the end result. i can see myself using this a lot in future projects.

craft fair preparation

jen and i are bust preparing for mg live at silverstone in june. this is only the second show we have attended and we are going to be there for 3 days!

this is the first of the items i am preparing for sale, a cute "it's a dog's life" mini album. i have purposely left the front blank, so that this can be personalised on the day. i might add something else to the cover yet as i think it looks a little blank?

tin holtz class at artsycrafts

oh my, i simply don't have any words to describe the class i took today. it was a-mazing!!!

we started off with this:-

some tissue tape:-

added a ton of embellishments:-

and ended up with this:-

the picture doesn't do it justice, i can't believe i actually made it!! needless to say i have some ideas for more boxes - watch this space!

art from the heart class and my first inchie

i haven't got around to finishing the inside of the album yet, but here is the project from tim's art from the heart class. i love this album, it combined a number of techniques, but the one i loved most is the type set letters, they are made from grungeboard - who knew??!!

i am getting around for round two with tim on thursday at artsycrafts and there is an inchie swap taking place. i've never made one before, but i love to work in miniature and this was a perfect excuse to indulge.

anyway here is my first attempt, i am quite pleased with the result.

something creative to share

i was asked to make a special birthday card this weekend and here it is. the papers are a mix of bo bunny and prima, 2 great favourites of mine. the flowers are also prima, and the tag is a tim hotlz adage ticket. all the papers have been inked with tim's vintage photo distress ink.

stamperama haul

last sunday i went to stevenage with jen, to try and drum up some inspiration and to see what was new. i guess it was a bit early for the cha releases to be available but i did manage to find a few little treasures, aren't those little bottles of glossy accents the cutest!!
