christmas cards

it's about time i posted the christmas cards i made for christmas. for the first one, i used the new snowfall collection from bo bunny. i punched out the snowman using a sizzix die and inked this up. the snowflake is  made from chipboard, painted white and covered in doodlebug glitter (love this stuff!!). i do like the way this turned out, even though it's not your traditional christmas colours!

for the second card, i used one of the techniques tim used in his 12 tags of christmas this year. it's a bit darker than i would like, i think if i use this again, i will use a lighter background paper as the green of the holly doesn't show up enough. anyway, i had fun playing with glassine paper and alcohol inks, i especially love the holly berries entwined with lace and mini tinsel.

mia

i have been missing in action for a while, unfortunately exams and work have taken over and so not much crafting has taken place.

i did, however, make time after my last exam to make some christmas cards and here they are, i wanted them to be quite grungy and so i used the my minds eye 'lost and found' 6x6 paper pad. i am quite pleased with how they turned out.

christmas tags

i have been busy over the last few weeks, i have been to the last creative escape ever, which was fabulous, i met some wonderful new friends and took some wonderful classes with some wonderful teachers.

after that, it was back to work, work, work.

i have, however, starting working on items for the didcot christmas craft fair and the street fair and here they are:-

these are available in packs of 5 (either 5 all the same or 5 mixed, with one of each) and are £2.50 per pack. email me if you are interested.

it's about time

i posted pictures of the albums i created for grace and helena in honour of our trip to see phantom of the opera and love never dies. we had the best day, we shopped, we laughed, we ate and we watched. we came home extremely tired, but very happy with our day.

anyway here are the pictures. warning - there are quite a few!!

i used plain old chipboard for the covers, and mostly 7gypsies for the pages and embellishments, the collection is called lille and was perfect for this project. i also used nearly a whole packet of basic grey pieces (love, love, love these!!) and ribbon by east of india and maya road. the alphabet stickers are tiny type by cosmo cricket and the punches are stampin up and martha stewart.

of course everything is edged with my trusty tim holtz vintage photo distress ink and i coloured the basic grey pieces with his distress stain, i love that this is a more subtle version of the actual inks.

I actually had the gift tickets specially printed for the occasion, each one has the name and time of the performance, the theatre we went to and our names as 'special guest stars' and as an additional embellishment, i managed to find some promotional cd's which have exerts from both shows on them.

i am really pleased with the way these turned out and i hope grace and helena are too!

sneak peek of a new project

this is a new project i have been working on for some time now. my cousin's daughter is 18 (where sis that time go??!!) next week and for her birthday she wanted to see phantom of the opera and love never dies one after the other. so, her aunt and i decided that this would be a great birthday treat and are taking her to london on tuesday. no doubt this will be punctuated by copious amounts of shopping and eating, i'm really looking forward to it.

i told grace i had a surprise for her, but i wouldn't tell her what it was, and so here is a sneak peek, let the teasing commence!!
