doily no 6

i am cracking on with this project now, we are up to number 6 already!

doily no 5

here is doily no 5, i wasn't as happy with this one as i felt it lacked the depth of the others, but i have finished it by adding a felt flower and some dew drops, my new favourite embellishment!!

i had some really great (i think) news today. i have the opportunity to go to mykonos in september to the cocoa daisy retreat at a vastly reduced cost. i am so torn, i really want to go - being taught by ali edwards, karen russell and jenni bowlin would be a really great experience, but on the other, i have already been away this year, oh my, what should i do?

here is doily no 4, i know i am starting to get repetitive, but i will be so excited to see this project finished, i am like a child waiting for christmas!!

so, here is doily no 2, what do you think? i am quite pleased with it, although I may have to restamp the label since it is a little smudged. the key to these are the layers, there is so much work behind each one, i am thinking i may be able to turn some of these into cards, they are so cute!

so, here is the first doily, this will be one of 16 and will be built up over the next few weeks to make a fabulous piece of artwork. thanks to christine for the inspiration behind this project. the magic of these is in the layers, each one is incredibly detailed and some of them have taken all day to make!!

what am i up to with these.........

i found these miniature paper doilies at Michaels when i was in california in april, i couldn't resist! i had no clue what i was going to do with them until i saw a project on christine's blog, i just had to follow along. so, watch out over the next few weeks, i will be posting my project!!
